@Dave
Starting (crappy or not) is an art indeed. I don't read Guy Kawasaki. You got me thinking I should start reading his stuff. :)

Thanks for your comment Dave. It is great for all of us to be able share the experience, learn and help each other.

@Haider,
Thanks so much for your comment. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Seth Godin got me thinking and moving big time.

The most important thing is that we become aware of why we're doing or not doing anything. This is the first step towards progress.

BTW I like the new look of your blog. I need to catch up with all the new stuff you have written. I'm still recovering from the bootcamp and trying to put what I learned to use. :)

Hi Manal,

I recently came out of a 5 month writer's block. I felt that I'd forgotten how to write, and couldn't get myself unstuck.

At the heart of what I was experiencing was my unwillingness to look at the problem in the eyes and confront it. I felt overwhelmed by everything I wanted to say, so I couldn't push myself to say anything. Whenever I started working on a blog post, I'd think about other posts I want to write.

This constant shifting from one idea to another and one blog post to another meant that I couldn't decide what to work on and ended up not producing anything.

It was actually Seth Godin's work that helped me get unstuck. :)

I learnt so much from the Blogging Bootcamp. It was such an awesome experience. I realised where I was missing the mark before. Hopefully we can all help each other build something great.

A great piece of advice that I read in Guy Kawasaki's book "The Art of the Start":

"Start Crappy"

Even though you had some falied attempts, you learned a lot along the way. Writing more and more helps you to develop your voice and style. It's all good practice.
